I'll be honest with you. Just yesterday I didn't know anything about the Nostr protocol, even though it's been around for a while and has a strong following in narrow circles.
So what made me discover it? My situation was very simple. I was working with Claude Cowork and I learned about its social media automation capabilities. You can literally ask it in one prompt to do anything. Publish news on schedule, even like other users' posts and leave comments. Of course I took advantage of this to free up some of my time from routine and automate part of my work on social media.
Just imagine how cool this is. Say you're a photographer and you've taken 100 amazing shots. You need to show them to the world. Every day you have to log into your social network and spend time coming up with descriptions, hashtags, interesting captions for each picture. Instead of focusing on what you love, you're spending your life on social media and useless routine that just takes your time. An AI agent can do all of this better. Everyone wins. You, because your blog is working for you and promoting your creativity, your photography, growing your followers, getting you known, and you don't have to sit in your phone for hours every day. The audience interested in photography gets great content and discovers your work. The platforms get good content. Seems like the future, right? What could go wrong?
Meta provides the API for automation, but bans you for using it. Yes, I got banned a couple of days after I turned automation on.
Meta destroyed my Threads account. All the content. All the effort. All the followers. Just deleted me and everything I'd built as if I never existed. Just because I got familiar with Claude Cowork technology and explored ways to make my life easier on social media. No spam, no aggressive automation, just a few automated posts and a bit of activity.
Yes, you can say "Meta bans any automation, that's their rule." Sure. But that's exactly the global existential problem. They give you the API, they use all the cutting-edge technology, and yet they're not ready for users to actually use that technology. It's easier for them to shut down your accounts and trade your attention than to genuinely build a new future.
After this I was completely done with Meta. Because once you see what automation can actually do, you can't unsee it. You can't go back. I have a ton of great content that's been piling up over many days. I don't want to spend years of my life manually posting it to share with the world.
Nobody's denying that AI can be harmful in some scenarios. It can be used for spam, for AI slop, all of that. But there's another side. When AI is used thoughtfully and with intelligence. People have the right to choose who they follow. And it doesn't matter how content reaches the feed, through AI automation or manually, what matters is the content itself and its value. This is what humanity has to go through. Learning to work with automation. It's going to become part of our lives. You don't have to run your social media entirely by hand anymore. Focus on your work and your projects. AI will help with the rest. This is available today.
And it was after this realization, when I understood that I don't own my content, that a corporation can take everything away from me in one day, that I have no right to automate, I realized this can't go on. I started looking for platforms that accept automation, and among them I found the game-changer protocol Nostr. This is the future.

The protocol also has encrypted messages built in, where you can easily have private conversations.
You can't ban this. You can't stop this. It exists as a technology, like the internet itself. Something you can't control. Which means you stay accessible. You can always be found. One address is all it takes. Your audience is yours. Your content is yours. Your key is yours. Just don't lose it.

What are keys and why do they matter?

How do people find me?

What if I lose my key?
Back it up. Seriously. Your key is your identity. We give you a downloadable backup file during signup. Save it somewhere safe. Without it, your account is gone forever. This is the price of true ownership.
Why does paying filter spam?
